www.fiveforhowling.com/2011/3/9/2041107/no-this-situation-is-nothing-like-winnipeg-quebec-or-hartfordI wont lie, the article poses a good point. There is a lot of hostility given to Yotes fans who want to keep their team by some of our crowd, even just for being a fan. I see it happen with every remotely non-positive media person too. I'm definitely pro-ROTJ, but I tend to back off when it comes to the hostility. Anyone else agree that its totally not the way to go? Where past relocated markets got other fans feeling pity, it seems the opposite is happening here.

Yeah the situation is different. Winnipeg, Quebec, Hartford, are hockey markets. Phoenix is a failed sunbelt experiment.
If the internet was commonly used in 95-96 then you'd get anonymous bloggers/chat room fans slamming our cities and team also. Welcome to the Internet!
I was just at a Calgary flames forum where they were slamming Winnipeg saying we didn't have money and couldn't sell out even a 15,000 seat area because we only had 600k population. And this was coming from Canadian Flamers fans!

People felt bad for Winnipeg, QC and Hartford because they lost their beloved team through no fault of the fans.
Glendale will soon lose a team that was neglected for it's entire existence, through the fault of absolutely nothing BUT the fans (or lack there of).
I won't be crying a river any time soon. Yeah there are some real fans in Phoenix, but the fact is if the team was well supported they absolutely would not be leaving, so suck on a lemon Arizona.

This sounds like he's giving up on the Jokes staying there so he's whining about the Canadian media and the hockey fans there. And of course there weren't people in Carolina, Denver, and Phoenix trolling Hartford, Quebec City, and Winnipeg sites, first of all there was no internet back then (As mentioned in the article), and second of all hardly anyone there even knew what hockey is, and still most of the people in Phoenix don't know what hockey is.

Sorry Phoenix, 9000 fans from Vancouver and the rest of Canada can't make it out to every game, especially when your playing Nashville, Columbus, Florida, etc...
The past 2 seasons the NHL has gone to extreme lengths to keep your team there, buying and operating it, bringing in Clowns and Jews from Chicago to "buy" the team. And you've rewarded the NHL's Go Jets Go dedication by losing 70 Million dollars, and having probably the lowest attendance in the NHL.

I've seen some pretty rotten comments towards Winnipeg,Manitoba, and Canada coming from some Coyote fans, AZRICK, G582(or what ever he calls himself) and a few others. It goes both ways.

The reason it's different is that there were almost no hockey fans in Phoenix/Carolina/Colorado that cared if they got a team.
If a team like Hartford had moved to Hamilton (and the internet and social media had existed), I'm sure it would've been a much more similar situation.

I read some of the comments posted by the 'Yotes fans and there is one person in particular that I have a personal beef with. I am not going to mention any names but they claim that they are a "victim" and has "a target on their back". Well, this particular person has tried to pick fights with me more than once in Winnipeg based chat rooms, fan pages, and all I EVER said was "We have been in your position before and we (Jets fans) should not be condemning these people for wanting to keep their team. We had our chance to do what we can, they deserve theirs."
I was told I am from the "Crotch of Canada", that Winnipeg is trying to "steal their team", and other profanities which I will not use here. So because of this I no longer go into the chat rooms of any site as I do not wish to partake in any flame war.
Also I have no respect for anyone who can't take what they dish out. There are block and ignore buttons for a reason no need to fan the flames.

The fans down in sunbelt markets always try to make Canada (I think it might have been to do with blaming GWI) look like some sort of bad guy, and that they're like Rocky and that Canada is like Drago (Rocky IV). I remember one poster on here said that Americans always do that when they don't get their way, they make a boogeyman out of somebody. As an American I hate to admit it, but he's right.
