I'd like Winnipeg to get a Stanley Cup Championship first.

Having just gone to the Heritage Classic last month I'd vote for the outdoor game anytime. Such a crazy/unique atmosphere at the game

The Heritage Classic I can see, as with the new stadum we'd be the only one of the seven Canadian teams with a sizable truly outdoor stadium that has yet to host the game. Toronto, Montreal, Vancouver, and Ottawa are all currently lacking a true outdoor stadium of significant size for the game, so that gives Winnipeg a good shot.
As for the All-Star game? Not any time soon. The small market Canadian cities are not usually considered for the game very often. After being around for 21 years, Ottawa hosts the game for the first time next season. Edmonton has not hosted it since 1989, and the Flames since 1985. Not a priority for the NHL.

Im not sure about an outdoor game. Man, our weather is poor for that. But I guess the new Stadium design would make it more doable. Can you imagine 40,000+ at the U of M Stadium? Wow, that would be cool. I sat through the sogginess of this year's Winter Classic at Heinz Field. If Pittsburgh can do that, Winnipeg can do an outdoor game....

Who the f__k would care? As long as the NHL returns I'd be fine without an ASG for two decades. The game blows anyway.

Right on! Another Oasis fan on ROTJ. Regardless of whether or not we get an ASG, I think we've just gotta roll with it. Don't let any COG's get in your way, cause its all too much for me to take!!! ;D

Having been to Raleigh earlier this year (and I might get roasted for this), I think that the all-star game is actually a better event to have in the more non-traditional markets for a few reasons.
(a) Hockey really takes over the city during the event and it helps grow the game.
(b) The fans there really appreciate the actual game. Say what you will, but Canadians are pretty jaded overall about the event (since it's a no-hitter for the most part).
That said, I think events like the NHL Entry Draft should be mainly held in the Canadian and northern cities.

I'd like to see a Heritage Classic and the draft.
Who would we play in the Heritage Classic? Montreal? With our fondness of the Bleu, Blanc et Rouge - that would be epic. But the Habs have been in the other two outdoor games in Alberta. Toronto? Well, the TO media would definitely go gaga if the 'mighty leafs' were in the big game. Ottawa, Vancouver - who cares... Leafs or Habs.

hey Mann1986 nice colors on that jersey i51.tinypic.com/2zyvr74.jpgback to the topic at hand, I believe we should be rewarded with an All- Star game after all when our Jets where here we never got the chance to host the ASG so we are long overdue imo. Just an idea but would it not be great if the NHL decided to have the ASG and the Heritage game played on the same weekend as of Louis Riel/familly day long weekend. Also I do believe we did host the draft.
