The population of Winnipeg is about 720,000.
The MTS Centre holds 15,000.
Are you we really going to sell out every game?

The population of Winnipeg is about 720,000. The MTS Centre holds 15,000. Are you we really going to sell out every game? Population of the Winnipeg area, as of July 1 2010 was 754,000. I am sure we have surpassed 760,000 considering the growth rate has been over 10,000 per year, for the past 3 years. We will easily sellout every game. Hey, if Regina can sellout 30,000 seats at each Roughrider game, with a population of 215,000 we can certainly sellout the MTS Centre. Mathematically speaking, 1 in 50 people in the Winnipeg area would have to buy a ticket to make the MTS Centre sellout.

I'd like to answer your question w/ a question: - Did the Minnesota Wild sell-out when they returned? I was working in Minny the summer prior to the Wild returning; the buzz was phenomenal -- however, the buzz here is EASILY double that AND they haven't even announced that we've got a team yet. We will have NO PROBLEMS selling out -- the question is -- how many tickets do you with hold for a walk-up crowd and how long is the waiting list going to be for season tickets?!?!? Personally, if I could get my name on a list today to ensure I'd get season tickets, I would.

There is no question that there is still passion for the Jets in Winnipeg, and the hockey world. Many of the Jets fans has moved on to other cities and have stayed loyal. The diversity of this forum proves that. This is where it gets interesting. Many teenagers, including my kids, has not watched a Jets game. The population increase is due to immigration from parts of the world that has not heard of hockey, much less the Jets. I've talked to many that does not even watch it on TV. In watching Moose games, there is a lack of visible minorities, except at Tim Horton's. Having said that, I believe that the new Winnipeg immigrants will embrace the hype. They are planting their roots here and calling Winnipeg their home. The trick is to market the new team/game to the new generation of fans. There will be no need to market the game to the die hard fans as we will support them (win or lose).

Plan on buying 2 season tickets which will be shared with two other friends. That gives each of us about 14 pairs each.
