Let them have their rally. But please people, QUIT trolling their Facebook page. Its an embarrassment to us Winnipeggers! Trying to deliberately agitate their fans is childish to say the least. Its just like Krux on the G&M or the Freep....or some on here on Azcentral. We can mock the rally on here!

Okay, at the risk of sounding like a complete idiot, how do you properly hi-lite a quote from a previous post?

Exactly, there are maybe 2 posters from Winnipeg and the one Atlanta support says "note all the hate from Winnipeg" The people in Phoenix absolutely hate us because a couple bad apples can't stay out of their business and let them discuss their team in their own ways. I got banned and removed from Coyotes Corner for simply being from Manitoba because some other shmuck started causing crap. When talking to the admin at at the site, his reply to me was simple..."Although you have never caused any problems here, its important to us to keep it civil around here." That is not word for word, but basically I got kicked out for being associated with the idiots. I am one of the biggest Return of the NHL supporters out there. But I am also a fan of hockey and up until about 3 months ago I was a coyotes fan. Until the people in Phoenix choose to hate me cause of my geographical location. I have old friends who wont even talk to me cause I am now the enemy. All because 2 or 3 people had to go start causing problems. Let these people have their rally. Let them have their counsel meetings. Get angry and make fun of them in a more private setting or here on THIS forum if you must. If their fans want to come here and post, disagree with them all you want, but don't troll their sites, it makes the rest of us look bad.

The people who are actually trying to buy an NHL team aren't talking trash, and it's their money, what gives anyone else the right? Let them whither away, why give then something to rally around? Pride can result in some pretty stupid acts.

But, I want a team back --> and going on their sites and getting them all riled up could really only lead to them caring more about their team. Let a sleeping dog lie and don't give them any reason to start caring about their team. And if you want to rub it in after we've officially taken their team, be my guest. At that point I really don't care, but wait until we have a team because before that anything anyone does can only hurt the cause.

I'll go down there with a Canadian flag and Jets jersey! hahaha The good news is that you may have to defend yourself against all of 3 people.... The link in the story shows that they are trying to raise $500 to keep their site open and running and are on their way with $190 raised so far...that's thinking big...w.t.f.?...

I checked out the facebook page, and I am breathing a sigh of relief. Not alot of action there, and their fans seem certain there is no owner coming to the rescue, and don't believe this recent rumour of the Dickey family stepping up (do they own those ice cream bikes? Now that would be a story!). Can you imagine if Facebook was around in '96? I am pretty sure we would have broken it!

Part of me wonders if this new owner BS is all drummed up by the NHL to delay the AS from selling. Why? Because the Phoenix situation is on the verge of crumbling and GB needs us more.

I'm inclined to agree with you here. Should the coyote bonds sell, it will be interesting to see how many "owners" are in Atlanta. Until they start mentioning names, I'm not worried. Atlanta is falling in the standings & this rally on Friday before the game starts should be interesting. They will probably overstate the actual attendance at the rally because they are going to get at least 5000 fans going to the game. Should be an interesting week here.

Part of me wonders if this new owner BS is all drummed up by the NHL to delay the AS from selling. Why? Because the Phoenix situation is on the verge of crumbling and GB needs us more. For a while now, we've been led to believe that the Atlanta to Winnipeg deal has been in place for some time just waiting for the Phoenix situation to be resolved. Why is it then that the owner has suddenly been talking publicly about new partners or a new ownership group being needed to keep the team in Atlanta? If there was a deal in place with TN, why not keep it quiet and let the deal be completed to move the team to Winnipeg? Regardless of what happens in Phoenix, why not wait on making any public statements? The more the issue (both Phoenix and Atlanta) is in the public eye, the more difficult it makes it for Winnipeg to get either team. One thing I have learned over the last number of years is how difficult it is trying to get a team out of an existing market. Regardless of how much fan apathy there is in a particular market, it's next to impossible to extract a team from that location as there seems to always be someone willing to buy a team. It's such a shame that we lost our team in the first place as this whole process has become the ultimate frustration. Since the last relocation of Hartford to Carolina in 1997, one thing you have to acknowledge about Gary Bettman --- his dogged determination to keep teams in their current markets. None of the other 3 major league sports have gone through such great lengths to prevent teams from moving the way Bettman has done with the NHL.

Well you can't say absolutely nothing, then announce that the team is moving. You have to get the fans 'ready' for that announcement. No idea if that's whats going on of course.
