I was there. Nice Ceremony! Moose players bought him a trip for 2 to L.A and a round (or 2?) of golf @ pebble beach. Other than that BBBOOORRRRIIINNNGGG! I really felt like yelling it. Sure we won 5-0 and sit #1 in our division and it was a really cool night (Mike Keane) First Number retired in the MTS centre, but a few times through out the night, no pretty much the whole game, i though I was in a library. This was my 3rd Moose game this year and i kinda expected a more "NHL" atmospere but was treated with the same AHL NO ENTHUSIASM FANS!(I didn't want to be the only fan yelling) Man are these young fans (anyone under 18) in for a real treat if and when the NHL does come back. Sorry to be so negative, but really, it hasn't been the same since 96.

They need to lower drink prices, or build more bars around the MTS Centre. The Garrick Hotel just isn't fun to go to before a game.

Although once we get an NHL team I really doubt beer prices will be coming down, as this will part of the revenue generation model.

I was going to buy tickets to the game tonight but all they had was upper bowl and the tix were going for 40 bucks a pop. I figured I would sit this one out especially because I have no interest in seeing the Moose play against the Rampage. I would of liked to see the ceremony though. Yeah when the NHL comes back that building won't be so quiet and I would love cheaper beer, haha 1 dollar beer nights come on . One could dream.

It was a very cool ceremony. During the video portion of the ceremony, there was well wishing sentiments from Patrick Roy, Joe Sakic, Brian Bellows, Marc Crawford and Joe Nieuwendyk (who ended up actually being there). My hats off to True North for putting this together. It was definetely NHL calibre production quality with no expense spared. It was a great way to send off a true Winnipeger! Attachments:

Is it still 2.25? True North did put on a NHL caliber ceremony, maybe the Rampage was out of gas, Moose are good though. Good view in Uppper Bowl!

I can't wait for the NHL those people will have to stay home and watch it on TV so they hit the mute button!

I could not believe it! no swearing but just loud cheering, some goaltender heckling, and this D-bag dad gives us dirty looks, finally telling us to tone it down? are you kidding me? Playoffs... Maybe it was the old arena? something about being inside of it makes you want to yell. This new building is too tame, I mean lame, such a shame, to be at a game, where you don't know the other teams players names, so pull up your Haynes and we'll see who reins next year at portage and MAIN!

I only drink at the Garrick because of the cheap drinks. It's not my kind of crowd.

This made me start a petition for Wilkes-Barre/Scranton to retire Darcy Robinson's #5.
Robinson was a fan favorite from 2001 to 2006, when he moved on to Italy.
He died from a heart attack in a game in 2008.

The Garrick Hotel just isn't fun to go to before a game. -Boston Pizza -Elephant and Castle -The Line-Up -4Play -Radisson Lounge -Regal Beagle -Tavern United -Exchange Bar & Grill -Paragon -Ming Court These places are all within a couple blocks of MTS Centre. Not sure how many more options you need? But I do agree that MTSC drinks are overpriced. The ceremony was great, BTW...way to go Keaner!

Had a blast at the Moose game. Mr. Denials himself, Scott Brown emceed the ceremony. Our group got a complaint lodged against us during the first period, and one guy got into an argument with the person we determined was the complainer in the third. She told him to grow up. The ushers moved them somewhere. I guess they saw how much we spent at the concessions. But it's fun. We were clean, and were able to work up a good hate for the Rampage. Especially that head shot towards the end of the third. You gotta make your own enthusiasm, get behind the local team. It's not the quality of the AHL that keeps people quiet. It's the fans themselves. I think it's also why the sunbelt teams struggle. No one knows much about the opponent, or the local team, so no one cares. Just like a lot of attitudes towards the Moose. I don't honestly know why I don't get out to more games.

It's not the kind of bar you want to be at after 7PM.

If anything, Moose games need to be less like Goldeyes games (like the library in a seniors home, where any kind of noise gets you dirty looks if not outright ejection) and more like Blue Bomber games where fans are loud and passionate. It makes me wince whenever I see a bunch of twentysomethings near my section drinking beer and whooping it up only to be told by an usher to simmer down because some miss grundy anal retentive type didn't like all the commotion. That's another bunch of people who basically won't come back to a Moose game.

I only drink at the Garrick because of the cheap drinks. It's not my kind of crowd. Regal Beagle, Yellow Dog and The Albert are maybe 5 mins away from the Garrick by foot. Also have cheap beer and the crowd isn't quite as scuzzy.
