Announced attendance was 9,508. They need to buy more snuggies.

I noticed something interesting about the pictures. Because the crowd is so small you can easily take a good look at who is there, and I can't find many children at the game. This is really weird, because in any good market you will find kids in their jerseys, families, etc. Logan might be there, but he doesn't count. This cannot be a good sign of developing a following.

This is because hockey is viewed as an outcast sport in the south, unless you are a transplanted fan from another market. Hockey is not and never will be mainstream in the Arizona market. I feel bad saying this, but if you ever go to a game in Glendale, you will notice many social outcast types in attendance (similar to what we see in the Glendale council meetings). It's not mainstream, so the fans are not mainstream either. Not your traditional family types. I hate to label it like this, but that's just what I observed down there last year.

Allyk: there appears to be a decent crowd at the game tonight, you'll have to let us know if it was a sellout.
I guess giving away a diamond ring on Valentine's day works, who knew *shrug*

I guess 20% off tickets, free shirts, Ovechkin, and the possibility of winning a diamond ring will put butts in seats...who knew? Pictures next....

It is still not THAT full. It looks like they sold out the lower bowl. Now, the question is how many seats does the lower bowl have?

I KNEW this one was going to be bad.
I really like how all of Ally's pictures include the scoreboard. If they didn't, I bet a lot of people would claim the picture was taken before the game or during intermission.

Even with the scoreboard time in the pictures, I still get people tweeting that "people are just starting to settle in their seats". I don't know, but if you are 6 minutes into the play, the time to settle into your seats has long past. Oh, well. But I love the photos. I look forward to them on Twitter all the time.

Thanks Domi. I dont know what else i can do to please everyone. I know its mostly people down here that try and challenge them, so oh well. Believe me, im not looking to start fights with anyone, so i am mostly quiet when it comes to defending them on Twitter. But there are always plenty of DM's from people by the time i get home. I try and wait until there has been at least a goal or a penalty before i take he picture, bc thats a prolonged stoppage. The latest defence has been that since i sit at the end where the Coyotes shoot twice, the other end always looks empty. So i guess at the next game i'll stroll down to the other end for the start of the second. Now what we need is an Ally in Atlanta to spy from there...

AllyK00 : Thanks for the "great" pictures. Makes me sad and hopeful at the same time. Since you are an "insider" (i.e. STH) i've got some questions. Do you think many of the fans realize that once MH assumes control (if he does) that the following is likely : Higher Ticket Prices. Fewer discounts or special promo nights to attract fans $10 - $20 parking Do you think all of these increased costs to attend games will make a difference to the fans and future attendance?

I'm not sure. I think people at the arena are almost afraid to talk about it, that if they do it might not happen. I dont hear much when i am up walking around during intermission. I figure at first it absolutely will. But MH has said he is prepared to lose money in the near future to build a stronger foundation for the years to come, whatever the hell that means. Our season tickets did not go up in price if you renew by March 21st. I assume if i wanted to wait until closer to Sept, or for someone who is new, it will be substantially higher. Time will tell....

Thanks. I hazard a guess that coyotes fans may be the only team in professional sports that benefits from free parking at games. Time will tell if fans stay away at the prospect of paying serious cash to park their cars. thanks again.
