From the Winnipeg Sun
"The Florida Panthers are taking a novel approach to selling some tickets this season, an interesting out-of-the-box approach to build business.
On the ice, new general manager Dale Tallon is going strictly old-school when it comes to team-building strategy.
The Panthers are allowing fans to bid on season tickets in a "name your price" promotion. Fans can choose their seat, make an offer and get a response back from the team within 24 hours.
In the first go-round in August, the Panthers accepted the equivalent of almost 150 full season ticket packages from about 200 bidders and rejected about the same amount. Significantly, many of those taking advantage of the chance to bid on tickets are new fans and the program has generated leads.
The success of the program resulted in it being brought back for another week."

Haha so they sold 150 season tickets in the entire month of August? And I can only assume that these sales were at market prices...

Multi-year waiting lists in Montreal, Vancouver, Toronto, etc.... Bettman should just pay for Canadians to move down south, then they might get some support...
