Random question ... I'm on the Arenafan.com site and there is a discussion going around about AFL in Canada.
Just out of curiosity, would you support an Arena Football team in Winnipeg or is it just a lame-azz pseudo sport that no one in Canada would ever go to?
I ask because Calgary, Toronto and Edmonton all support indoor lacrosse so I figure the AFL may have some success in Canada.

There is probably no existing appetite for Arena Football, but with the right marketing, there could be.
If you want an example of how that's done, just look at the Goldeyes - in most cities this size, a single-A baseball team would be more or less ignored, while here it gets equal billing to higher-level sports.
There was an Arena Football team in Toronto for a couple of seasons, but it crashed and burned pretty badly. It would probably be easier to succeed in a smaller city where there is less competition for the sports dollar, but I think it would be pretty tough sledding for an AFL team anywhere in Canada.

I remember us near Wilkes-Barre having an af2 (old AFL minor league) team, the Pioneers. I was at their first ever game, and it's a VERY entertaining product of football!

Might do better in smaller cities with no CFL.

Wouldn't mind seeing a lacrosse game...
