It doesn't add up in that, before the Glendale vote, Darren told everyone not to worry about the vote, that it was just a formality and that things were still going our way regardless. Then once it went down and news of the called off press conference broke, it became clear how critical this vote actually was. I'm just not sure why Darren seeemed to be downplaying its importance in the days leading up to the vote. Exactly.

Actually, it wasn't the misspelling of "Prey" that caught my attention as much as the capitalization of the word "Predators". Is that a little hint for us, Jimi? You can't be serious.... And for the record; No, "Predators" is NOT in Caps

Actually, my tongue was firmly planted in my cheek when I mentioned Jimi's use of the word "Predators" as being a possible hint (yes, the P in Predators was capitalized in Jimi's post but not the whole word). I was having a bit of fun there but I guess I forgot to add the winkie smiley face. Sorry for stirring the pot and for any grief I may have caused.
Anyway, I do agree that our chances are not limited to the Yotes. When teams are starting to ask fans to name their own price for tickets you know that the house of cards is about to collapse.

As a poster to this site I may be a "noob" or a "newb" or whatever you want to call it, Viv but for what it's worth, I've been a daily visitor to this forum since it's inception and have been a registered member for five and a half years. I just don't post much because I don't have any real insights into the ROTJ situation -- just opinions like everyone else and I don't usually feel compelled to share them. I usually just log in to find out what others have to say -- Maguire, Hendrix, Vivian, Wagner, Razor, Darren, etc. Living the build-up to the ROTJ with all of you guys (and gals -- sorry Jiffy!) over the past few years has just made it all that much sweeter when the magical day finally arrives and we all converge on Portage and Main.
I'm what most of you might call an old fart -- I've witnessed the Jets win Avco Cups at the Arena, saw them beat the Soviet National Team in 1978, attended the first NHL Jets home game in 1979 and was there for the last one in 1996 as well. But, to me, the celebration when the Jets come home to roost will be the greatest thrill of all.
Anyway, sorry for sounding so defensive. I promise that this "newb" won't post very often...and when I do I'll just have to be more careful to include one of those winkie smiley faces when I'm having a laugh.
Cheers!

Actually, whether or not you were speaking tongue in cheek, when I first saw the way Hendrix worded that TNSE are Predators with the capital P, I actually thought for a second that it was some kind of hint too. But by the time I got to the end of his post (which obviously wasn't too long) I figured most likely if there was anything to read into it, he would have put a in there. No reason to fret about this though...amazingly small thing to get beat up about.

Same here. Otherwise it makes absolutely no sense. Are We all going to Start turning Random Words into proper Nouns now?

Back on topic: the "name your price" scheme is insane. This team has to be next on the chopping block -- after the Coyotes -- if they're resorting to such ridiculous tactics.

They have lost their shame. Also they are showing their desperation. A disgrace to the team and the NHL in the United States market. Fans there will now not respect the game and it can be years or if ever they get their respect back.

in all honesty guys this is a brilliant marketing strategy because it makes the fans feel as though they are bartering for a seat.....in reality what is happening i'm sure is that the customer says "i'll give you "x" amount of dollars for that seat there throughout the year". the sales rep now knows a number that customer is comfortable spending and is then able to downgrade them to a seat that is within their price range without really discounting seats all that much. as an example the sales rep will say "well, joe we can't sell that seat for that little, however, i can get you into the gold section with really good seats for that much money."
i know i don't post on here at all, however, i have been reading and keeping up with everything. i figured you guys were missing the obvious with this one. even though it would be nice for them to sell out without advertising there are very few teams in the league that can do that. the maple leafs are probably the only team that does not have to do any advertising at all.
