gojetsgo007, You need to do more research about the Isles situation. If interested, I would suggest reading an article from Newsday from Jan 15th. It's a rehash of the Isles troubles by a newspaper that is owned by billionaire Charles Dolan. Dolan owns the Rangers, Madison Square Garden and Newsday. There are a lot of facts but it is also void of important details. Newsday is a pay-walled site so you can read the article posted on NY Islanders Country. I recommend reading the Isles fan reactions too. z11.invisionfree.com/IslanderCountry/index.php?showtopic=12687The Isles received a new sublease with SMG for NVMC arena in Dec 2009 that gives more control to Wang. The Isles also get about $22 million per season from Cablevision for local tv rights. Wang stated on Gary Bettman's Radio show in Dec that his team isn't for sale and they will see out the NVMC lease until 2015. I highly doubt GB (who is from NY) would allow the Isles to move to WPG. I also believe GB is not happy with Wang's penny pinching as of late. (off-ice and on-ice) If (hopefully) Wang sells, the tv contract is his biggest asset. If he moved them off Long Island, that asset would be gone.

Not looking for the NYI i must say.
I personally believe its only a matter of time. Winnipegs team...No but i think their future in Long Island is bleak.

GB will only allow a sale to go down if it's Nelson Peltz or another crew who will either get a rebuild of NVMC or go to the Barclay's. No matter how much Potvin sucks, this Ranger fan can not see the NHL without the Isles.

They're going to start building the next arena the Islanders are going to play in later this year. Plans for it were announced this past week.

I wouldn't want them to get out of LI, NY even though I'm not too fond of them. They'd do fine in Brooklyn or Queens I believe!

I'm sure in either place, it will be in much better shape than they would be in regions like Phoenix, Miami, Kansas City, Las Vegas, or any sunbelt area you care to name! ;D

I honestly think Wang doesn't care enough to inflate... he has no incentive because they don't qualify for revenue sharing.
