I noticed the 'home team' Tampa was wearing whites. Is this a new convention this year???

I was wondering that myself. It would certainly help the white out make more sense, if we ever get a team back and then the team makes the playoffs...

I don't think so. Although they were technically home it was still a neutral site game. Plus in the Toronto and Montreal games the home teams were wearing dark yesterday, so I wouldn't read too much into that.

I haven't heard any official announcement of changing that, so I'm 99% sure it hasn't changed.
However, some teams such as the leafs I believe and I know a few others, did wear white jerseys at home a few times the last couple seasons. So I'm not sure if a team is allowed to make this choice at home? Maybe there's a limited amount of times they can choose to wear white?
I'm not sure, but I do KNOW that I have seen home teams in white a few times, the leafs were one team I remember.

I love the MTS Centre... but is there more work planned for concessions and bathrooms on the upper level? Lineups were pretty long for food. I spent $35 on booze last night and I would have spent some more on food but the lines were huge.

Didn't someone say that work was going on in the upper concourse? Any signs of construction up there?

It was a pretty quiet crowd, but it's obviously because neither team plays out of Winnipeg. A few scattered "Go Jets Go!" chants. The crowd cheered pretty loud when Toews was mentioned by the announcer, and loud boos were heard when Toews was given penalties. Other then that, it was mostly just polite clapping whenever a team scored.
I'm not sure if I'll go to many more of these off-site exhibition games. It's just not the same without a home team to cheer for. Hopefully, next year we'll have our own team and the game will have a completely different feel to it.
With a gate of nearly $1.2 million (14000 x 85), we hopefully won't have to wait long for a team to return even if the Coyotes situation doesn't pan out.

I went to the first 3, and it was fun the first time just to see NHL hockey in the MTS Centre. But hockey is about more than just watching the best players (which these exhibition games don't offer, as at least one team always has most of their stars sitting), but without someone to root for, it just isn't the same. If people want to go, great. But I don't think we have anything left to prove, and I just don't care about watching a scrimmage between two other cities teams anymore... you don't see Carolina vs Anaheim being played in Toronto's ACC, cuz they have their own team to cheer for! Somewhat off topic... but this is why I never got into the NFL (never in my life watched a whole game). Sure the players are talented, but I don't give a crap about who wins, so it's not that interesting to watch. Plus the CFL is actually a more exciting brand of football, even if the talent isn't as high.
