So, lets assume the NHL dream is dead for now. We know a lame duck season in the desert is gonna happen and what that will do to them. But, what will it do to the Moose?......I can envision the same thing here. lower than normal fan turnout is definatly a possibility do you know agree? What does Mark Chipman do then?.....surely he must have that in the back of his mind. what do you guys think?

Honestly I think it could work the other way around. If people are very certain we are getting an NHL team for next season, and if you are a Moose season ticket holder you get first dibs on seats......then maybe they have a great year attendance wise. I have been to only 3 Moose games ever, but I may just step up to the plate and get some seasons this year.....so I can be first in line for the Jets next year!

^ That's probably why TNSE doesn't want to leave this dangling forever...at some point they need to commit to the AHL for 2010-11, otherwise they won't have time to get all the ticket and sponsorship renewals they need to make the Moose profitable.
Of course, it will hit them in other ways too - did you see the Free Press article which mentioned that the Moose have done next to nothing in terms of recruiting? Agents are reluctant to have their clients sign here because of the potential that they could be cast adrift with nowhere to play... a terrible last-place Moose team could cost TNSE a lot of money.

I know people who have put down deposits on Moose seasons just in case. So you never know, it may help. To be honest I would think that the average attendance for the Moose this upcoming year will be very close to their normal. A Moose game is a good event to bring your kids to or if you want to watch some decent live hockey. The emotional attachment to the team however is not really there for many, therefore people likely are not going to the games now (with some exceptions) just because this is our team.

That only works if people know NHL is coming next year. If the general consensus is that Chipman got taken advantage of and the city got taken for a ride (remember most aren't as well informed as us) there could be some backlash for sure.

I think Ian is more on track. If it comes to lame duck in Phoenix and for Moose, which isn't 100% yet than TNSE says Moose season ticket holders get dibs and everyone should be lining up for Moose tickets.
In that case it won't matter if butts are in the seats so much as tickets sold. And TNSE has been preaching this for years already. Moose holders get first dibs.
But yes, this would be contingent on a guarantee that the NHL is inbound.

Funny, I was having the same conversation this morning with a buddy of mine. We are thinking of ponying up if the Moose are still here. Push comes to shove, can just give the tickets to clients if not attending.

I think that it will boost season/minipack sales as people jockey for the rights to NHL seats. I think that they'll have 2 years of that, then if no go, it will taper off.
I think walk up will depend on how the team does.

If the Coyotes are announced as coming here for 2011-2012, then I think TN is smart enough to spin that very well. Moose season ticket holders get dibs on the NHL, a season to remember for the Moose (but a happy one) and taking full advantage of hockey fever that will grip Winnipeg.

So, a caller from B.C ordered a FULL Season Ticket package for the MB Moose. Reason; He cannot get tickets to the Canucks, and is planning on moving to Winnipeg within the next 2 years.
He told the Moose Ticket Rep to "Do whatever you want with the tickets. Give them away, throw them out, etc...I just want to ensure my spot for NHL Tickets when I move back..."
