I am more conservative, and I don't think it has to do with the party, more the person. Katz would be my vote if I could vote. I have a friend I grew up with running for mayor... but not sure what his plans are for sports. I know he is a naysayer and doesn't believe we can keep a team. He is a person that said, We lost them once already rememeber... *don't wanna hear my comment - basically what anyone else on this board would say*

A guy I went to school with as of today is actually in the race as well. Kinda surprised me! His name is Avery Petrowski. Should be interesting. I heard him speak on CJOB last night. He said he's not a sports fan. Also, he said the Jets didn't work here before so why would they work here again. He at least stated he hasn't done his homework regarding the NHL's return to Winnipeg. Yes I know, that is why I erased what I had... and added more. But he isn't.. I had a discussion with him regarding the Jets lately and 5 years ago and everytime we drank together and it came up. He has no clue and he is focused on other things. He isn't happy with the new stadium either... as he says money should go elsewhere... so he wouldn't be someone I would vote for.

I'm pretty sure that's more money than the Jets would have made if we had kept them another three years. Speaking like that; I wonder exactly what you're doing wasting your time here for...... LOL Its a good thing we didnt spend public money on a new building. and I've said it before. When any level of government gets involved, it is more of a burden. It restricts the freedom to make sensible decisions, and there is much more red tape and a much more difficult process to acquire materials, permits, etc... In the long run, having this private, beautiful building known to us as MTS Centre is likely better than anything the City of Winnipeg could have put up at the time. Granted, its came at the cost of not having an NHL team for 15-16 years... but, the end result will be far more desirable. Trust me. That being said...Keep Sam Katz in office... I can't see how anyone could vote otherwise... its just not sensible.

One day till the election supposedly Katz may have a slight lead. But honestly who really cares about this election if Judy wins it will be be because she earned enough sympathy with her "Everyone is a sexist against me" charade and if Katz wins its because he scared enough people with his phone annoying phone messages.
While I hope she doesnt I think there may be a chance of Judy winning strictly due to voter apathy.

If Judy wins this election.... everyone under the age of 35 might as well pick up and move... this city has been oppressed with lefty's and ignorance.
Sam Katz, not only has short term growth and prosperity, but paints a picture for years down the line... as someone in my late 20's... I can't imagine voting any other way but Sam.
We need right leaning city hall to keep business busy in this city.

I think Sammy's far from perfect, but I DO believe that he would do more to help bring back the NHL right now versus Judy. And even just my biased wishes aside, I think that is the biggest issue facing this city (that the Mayor plays a factor in, since really I don't think the crime thing is anything but a federal fix).

I personaly just wouldn't vote for someone who does not put their full name on any of their campain signs. To me it say that person has something to hide or is ashamed of their name.

I hope Judy doesn't win because I am not in favour of Horse and Carriage as a mode of rapid transit. Lets build a city of prosperity, youth, vision and success. Sam or Bust. If anyone you know is voting Judy, let me know and I'll straighten them out real good...

I'm not a huge fan of Sam Katz but he's been a pretty good mayor IMO. One thing I don't like about him is that he seems to alienate areas of the city that have councilors that aren't on board with him...like say the pitiful Jenny Gerbasi for instance (my councilor).
And I'm also one who can't stand that historically the mayoral incumbent rarely loses. I like to see fresh progressive ideas at City Hall. In this case, Sam Katz is better and scares me a whole lot less than the NDP devil we know.
Winnipeg and Manitoba really need to get out of the socialist rut. It's holding us back.

Sam or Bust. If anyone you know is voting Judy, let me know and I'll straighten them out real good... I'm not voting for Judy, I already voted for her. This city needs to learn when to cuts its losses and move on from a total bust like Sam.

We raised 13 Million over the span of a couple days. Pan Am games was a waste of money & time. The Pan AM Games definitely left an impression on me. I had sex with a Costa Rican athlete.
