why wouldn't this site just continue on? proboards is free and obviously a lot of people go here, plus the past discussions serve as a type of account of what it took to get the team back with all the ebb and flow. why do you need another site that serves the same purpose?

Yes, we should just make this the unofficial fan page of the Winnipeg Jets. Calgarypuck.com is a great example of an unofficial NHL fan forum. IMO, Darren should just carry on, but maybe change the name from Jetsowner to something more relevant.

I see no reason why this forum can't keep going.
Let the fairweather fans flock to the nhl.com forum. I'm fine with sittin my A$$ right here, with the believers.

I may actually cry when this site goes down. But I'll admit, most people will most likely move on to the jets.nhl.com boards when they're up. I actually find sites like Calgarypuck, Oilfans, and Canucks Central better than the official NHL fan forums. Same goes for Ourbombers. I like it better than the official Blue Bombers CFL forum. This has arguably been the most popular Winnipeg based internet forum over the past year.

Here here! I've already enjoyed our discussions on the upcoming draft, Cheveldayoff's challenges, and potential signings. No reason to send us somewhere else. And once the name is settled the overall traffic will drop by at least half...

I think it'd go back to a cozy board again, which would be great.

Like Grumpz said, we're the believers who have a lot emotionally invested in this, so we'll be the true fans which always leads to the best and most honest discussions about the team and league.

I'm lost over at HF (and frankly the a**hole quotient is pretty high there) and it'd be nice to continue some of the relationships we've built up here over the years. In two years someone might come up with some convoluted but fictional trade theory, complete with legit names and stories, and we can all say 'mmm... hotdogs...' and only us pre-ROTJ'ers will know the joke. m.

Why start fresh when we can just alter the forum format. Make it like Calgarypuck or Oilfans. Have a Game Day Thread (GDT), Jets forum, Around the NHL, Minor League forum, Off-topic forum, etc.
This forum has developed a sizeable following, and it would be easy to have this as a unofficial Winnipeg Jets forum.

I agree. A fresh start has no place in any ROTJ discussion. Subtle, eh? m.

Maybe we could even make suggestions to TNSE for special nights.... Something like "Star Wars Night", or "$1 beer/hotdog Nights"....they were a big success at Jobing.com.... Attendance shot up to 8,000....

Someone is going to have to start a Jetsownerowner.com website to have the return of the jetsowner as the main goal.

If I may? I have followed this site from day 1 and thank Darren for the laughs and his part of bringing back the Jets. It has been in my mind since April 2010 to start up a Jets message board when this one was ready to take on a different path. So in April I purchased www.gojesgo.ca I'm on twitter as gojetsgodotca The site just launched and is waiting for feedback from it's members on what they want to see on this site. I will be holding a logo contest for the site, I have a Jersey contest at the moment and a podcast is set up but not live yet. I'm looking for mods and members so if I may take the torch and keep the flame burning I invite you to join over @ www.gojetsgo.ca. Cheers Go Jets Go

Yet another name tossed into the hat. If it ever made a poll, it may actually be more popular than any of the Jets alternatives thus far.
