The game is going to be televised on NHL Network in the US, but I don't think we'll be getting it here.

Does anyone actually want to watch this on TV?! At least this year some of the stars are supposed to be playing, unlike the first 3 exhibition games I went to.
But for the record, both teams suck!

I'd love to see Winnipeg get some love on broadcast television, showing off our NHL building, NHL fans, and maybe an intermission interview with the next NHL team owner. I can't make the game anyway... middle of a busy week don't work so well and I don't feel the need to put a lot of effort into babysitters and such to check out a game that doesn't feature my team. Now if it was a Jets game... m.

Well I was being somewhat sarcastic, obviously the spotlight on our arena would be a good thing. I'm just saying, I'm sick of getting excited over being thrown other cities table scraps in the form of an exhibition game.
I remember going to the first one thinking awesome! This is a test and when we sell it out, a team will be back within a year!... We sold out the first 3, I'm thinking we passed the test long ago!

People expected more from the game & the following 2 Exhibition games came well short of sell-outs. This year however could be a sellout due to the Chicago franchise playing.

Hmm, I guess I remembered wrong, I thought we sold out more than just the first one before people got sick of watching different teams play their backups.
I can understand people liking Chicago, obviously just with the buzz of being champs but also the Winnipeg connections. I just can't get past hating them for knocking out the nucks the last two years.

www.mtscentre.ca/events/2010/100922/index.php?event_id=759"This will be the seventh time Winnipeg has hosted an NHL exhibition game since 1997. It will be the fourth exhibition game played at MTS Centre. Last year, the Lightning defeated the Oilers 4-3 in the last seconds of overtime before 11,644 fans. In that past, MTS Centre has hosted the Calgary Flames (once), Edmonton Oilers (twice), Phoenix Coyotes (three times), Toronto Maple Leafs (once), and Tampa Bay Lightning (once). The average attendance for the NHL exhibition games played thus far at MTS Centre has been well over 13,000 fans." Oilers vs Coyotes in 06 was our only sellout, the others hovered around 11000-12000 tickets. I believe this years is up around 14200 so far, hopefully the last few tickets will be snatched up in the final minutes.

Scott Brown on CJOB's H&L at 6:20pm 24 hours before the game, confirmed ticket sales of 12,600. I suspect we'll hit 13,000 minimum. Given the average ticket price around $75, it looks that the game will be top third in total gate revenue in the NHL. Not bad for a glorified practice where neither team has any tie to Winnipeg, except Keith and Toews!! For the background data, click here: www.manitobamythbusters.com/webpage/id/14&MMN_position=20:6and here: www.manitobamythbusters.com/facts_figures/ManitobaMythbusters.pdfI'll be in 319 behind one of the nets. I love to get pictures of the entire rink from the upper bowl. It also allows me to have proof of our attendance in case the naysayers like to try to revise history later. Biggest dilemma: 3 people, only 2 Jets jerseys!! A trip to River City Sports is in order Wednesday afternoon!! Chris
